Community First acknowledges the important work and contribution made by volunteers, we welcome volunteers into the Community First family and provide inductions and on-the job training. There are several different areas where volunteers can make a real difference:
In our Mandurah, Kwinana, Palmyra and Bull Creek centres, volunteer help is always gratefully received – whether you can offer assistance with driving, day centre activities or helping hands with packaging food for our Meals on Wheels service.
Our aged care clients come from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds, and community visitors from all backgrounds are welcome. Volunteering as a community visitor can be a rewarding experience. By befriending an older person, volunteers have a chance to make a positive difference to someone’s life – as well as their own.
If you have recovered from a mental health condition and wish to help and inspire others to recovery who are currently experiencing the anguish of mental health issues then become a volunteer for the Personal Helpers and Mentors Program in Mandurah, Bunbury or Albany.
In providing services, it is important to promote independence and encourage clients to continue to do what they can for themselves. Get in touch with Community First and help others to Live Life Better.
