The Journey to Quality

Inherent in the Community First philosophy of positive outcomes and independence is the desire to afford individuals control over services to address their needs and enable them to ‘live life better.’ A commitment to be the best that we can underlines this and we undertake a range of approvals and accreditation processes in the fields of mental health, disability, aged care and employment to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

Maintenance of transparent management systems and practices are essential to ensure we continually improve our services and comply with all legislative and contractual requirements for our various service agreements and contractual arrangements. Community First is an accredited contractor to the WA Mental Health Commission, WA Department of Health, Commonwealth Department of Social Services, WA Disability Services Commission and National Disability Insurance Agency.

The key standards that Community First has achieved accreditation against are:

AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems Standard;
National Standards for Disability Services
Home Care Standards; and
Food Safety Programs for Food Services to Vulnerable Persons Standards.

Processes and controls in financial and operational systems underlie our significant experience in managing large government funded contracts and compliance with government financial agreements. Our financial processes are based on the International Federation of Accounting Practices, Financial Management Regulations and Australian Accounting Standards

We are committed to protecting our clients, business activities, human and physical resources through risk identification processes (including financial risks) with staff at all levels fully trained in reporting and managing risks. Our Risk Management Plan is consistent with the Australian Risk Management Standard 31000:2009.
