Karen GadsbyBComm, FCA, MAICD
Non-executive director – Appointed October 2009
Ms Gadsby was appointed as Chair of Community First in October 2011. Ms Gadsby is a Chartered Accountant with more than 24 years corporate experience, principally in the area of finance. She has spent more than 13 years working with the North Ltd group of companies in finance and commercial roles, including positions as Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary & General Manager.
Ms Gadsby has been a non executive Director for the past 11 years in both the not for profit sector and the commercial sector in Western Australia and Victoria. She has also held the roles of Deputy Chair and chair of Audit and Risk Committees.
Ms Gadsby is also Chair of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
Ms Gadsby is a non-executive director at Talisman Mining Ltd, Forest Products Commission, Strategen Environmental Consultants Pty Ltd, and Landgate.
David SheltonB.Bus, MBA, MAICD
Non-executive Director – Appointed November 2010
Mr Shelton is an experienced businessman with more than 25 years experience in advising senior management on business strategy, preparing for and managing enterprise growth. He has been involved in a wide spread of industries, as executive, owner, advisor and investor, including ownership of a successful recruitment agency. David is a strategic thinker who brings an ability to analyse market situations and assess business opportunity.
Mr Shelton is a member of the Finance, Audit, Compliance and Risk Management Committee and the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
Mr Shelton is chair of Transition Capital Pty Ltd.
Ms Zelinda Bafile LLB, FAICD
Non-executive Director – Appointed October 2009
Ms Bafile has practiced as a lawyer for over 30 years and has over 20 years commercial experience and governance expertise in the banking and finance industry. She brings over 12 years experience as a Director and Chairperson gained on corporate, community, government and professional Boards.
Ms Bafile is Chair of the Finance, Audit, Compliance and Risk Management Committee.
Ms Bafile is a director at the Forest Products Commission. She is Pro Chancellor at Curtin University and Chair of The John Curtin Kalgoorlie Campus Council and John Curtin Art Gallery. She is also the Chair of The Friends of the Perth International Arts Festival. She retired as a member of the Corporations and Markets Advisory Committee in June 2011 after 6 years, following the completion of her second term.
Ian AndersonMBA, BBus, FAICD
Non-executive Director – Appointed July 2010
Mr Anderson is an experienced director and manager in both the not for profit and for profit sectors. He has held a number of positions in large and small companies in both sectors. He has been involved in large scale change management and improvements in organisational performance. In addition he has developed a particular interest in corporate governance and organisational strategy.
Mr Anderson is a member of the Finance, Audit, Compliance and Risk Management Committee.
Mr Anderson is a non-executive director on the Queen Elizabeth 11 Medical Centre Trust.
Jonathan HustonMBus, BA, MAICD
Non-executive Director – Appointed July 2010
Mr Huston has more than 15 years experience in senior management and governance in the retail, automotive and franchise sectors. Since 2004 he has been owner and Chairman of Croissant Express.
Mr Huston brings solid retail and strategic management skills to Community First, especially with regard to the management of the JSA network. Mr Huston also assists in the merger and acquisition strategy within the organisation.
Mr Huston is a member of the Finance, Audit, Compliance and Risk Management Committee.
Mr Huston is Chair of Croissant Express Pty Ltd and a Director of Kresta Holdings Limited.
Rob McDonaldB.Bus, CPA, MAICD
Non-executive Director – Appointed April 2012
Rob is an experienced Director in the Government and not for profit sectors. Additionally in his 32-year public sector career in the WA State Government, he held a number of senior executive positions, such as Executive Director at WA Police, Director of Agency Resources at WA Treasury and the Chief Executive Officer at the State Supply Commission. Rob is a member of the Audit, Compliance and Risk Management Committee. Rob is also a non-executive Director at the Forest Products Commission, The Centre for Cerebral Palsy and the Rottnest Island Authority.
